Hb61 Chipping gun

The City of Hiroshima
Donated by Ikimatsu Minato

The donor was a native of Hiroshima Prefecture and was summoned by Sadaichi Minato and his wife Kiku Minato both natives of Hiroshima, as their adopted son. In 1924, he immigrated to Hawaii on the “Siberia Maru” at the age of 14, to seek a better life by getting an education and learn a trade.
He was an apprentice for 10 years and established Island Awning Shop that manufactured custom-made awnings, tents and products of canvas material.
This gun was purchased in Honolulu and most often used in chipping away at concrete to make holes when installing coverings in patios.
