The Japanese-Peruvian Friendship Bridge was inaugurated on May 29, 1999 on the Campo de Marte field in Lima as a Commemorative Monument of the Centenary of the Japanese Immigration to Peru.
The bridge symbolizes the bonds of friendship between Peru and Japan, and its special feature is that engraved on it are the names of the 790 Japanese who were the pioneers of the immigration to Peru.
