The City of Hiroshima
Donated by Ikimatsu Minato
Amulet of the Koshoji Shingon Mission in Haleiwa, Oahu. It is said that these kinds of lucky amulets can still be found in many “Nikkei” homes.
The donor, a native of Hiroshima, visited Japan from Hawaii many times, and contributed greatly to establishing a sister city relationship between his hometown and Honolulu. He also worked hard to introduce Japanese culture, including the activities of Hiroshima Kenjin Kai and Buddhist associations, as well as judo, reproducing Japanese gardens, and many other activities.
