Hb41 Leather knife case

The City of Hiroshima

Sadaichi Tsunemoto hung it from his hip from around 1906 to 1925 while cultivating coffee in Kona, Hawaii. The knife itself no longer remains but there is a sharpening rod attached to the case. While at work he used to pull out the rod quickly and sharpen the blades of farm implements. The case is decorated and very clean, which reminds the donor of Sadaichi who was a smart dresser.
