Used by Hisaichi Ueno, the donor’s father, at his garden surrounding his house on a sugar plantation in Lahaina, Maui from the late Meiji Era to the Taisho Era. He had a local blacksmith make it.
He was a native of Fukuoka Prefecture and immigrated around 1898 at the age of 16.
