In 1989 the Japanese-Peruvian community celebrated the 90th Anniversary of the Japanese Immigration to Peru, organized by the Commemorative Commission headed by Mr. Gerardo Maruy, with a series of cultural, artistic and social activities, besides the construction of works to benefit the community at large.
