Athletics Festival

The “Peru and Japan” athletics festival was held in the National Stadium in August, 1933. Six notable Japanese athletes participated in competitions, playing against Peruvian and Japanese nikkei teams.
That year marked the 25th anniversary of the Japanese immigration to Brazil, and the South American Japanese societies invited athletes to the sports festival to pay a tribute to the Japanese precursors in this continent.
