Another way for Japanese immigrants to form groups was based on the neighborhoods where they resided. The image shows members of La Victoria Japanese Club in 1933.
Similar to it, Japanese associations were formed in other districts of Lima such as Rímac, Miraflores, Chorrillos, Magdalena and Jesús María. Camaraderie, mutual help and entertainment were among their objectives. They usually met at members’ houses and practice sports on areas of waste land.
