School on Hacienda Santa Bárbara

To secure suitable education for their children so that they could build a better tomorrow was a primordial task for Japanese immigrants. Toward this aim, they established inside haciendas schools such as the one that operated on Hacienda Santa Bárbara, located in Cerro Azul, Cañete, south of Lima.

The school began its teaching tasks with one teacher and nine students.
